“Ek geniet Afrika tot dusver baie”

I’m enjoying Africa more than I thought I would.
Henri picks up at 9am after a lovely breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea.
Henri is white, originally from Zimbabwe and does like to inform, on everything, a veritable font of knowledge. The van is lovely, roomy and we set off heading south, the Atlantic on our right, through ritzy very expensive houses, he’s oblivious to the traffic he’s holding up. Out trip to Seal Island on a boat is off, the wind is blowing hard, still.
We head, instead, further south to The Cape of Good Hope. The wind is blowing harder than I’ve ever felt, at a short stop at a headland with a view I have to hold on to a tree for fear of blowing away.
Its no better at The Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Lighthouse but the views are spectacular.
The Cowboy holds on to rocks, rails, anything to stop him blowing away, the weightlifting and extra weight has prevented him being ripped off the cliff by the wind.
Lunch in Simon’s Town is good but a team of baboons is roaming the street like hooligans, they have a crack at the table beside us but knock a milkshake over before being chased away.
The penguins are great at Boulder Beach but the wind and sand are killers.
We’re exhausted, dinner at the Greek Fisherman Restaurant is good.
Tomorrow Table Mountain and Robben Island with Henri again.
Ciao
Pauolo
